NEW APPOINTMENTS STRENGTHEN SURVITEC’S POSITION AS MARITIME INDUSTRY’S FOREMOST SAFETY PARTNER
As part of a tranche of measures introduced to strengthen its leading position in the global marine safety and survival market, Survitec has appointed Mr. Baba Devani to spearhead the company’s newly restructured division.
Mr. Devani joins Survitec as Managing Director, Survitec – Marine, with the mandate to strengthen the group’s divisional structure with a more customer-oriented service philosophy.
His appointment follows senior executive positions at Berendsen plc where, as Managing Director, Workwear, he led the company’s largest division to commercial success, prior to his appointment in 2016 as a member of the executive board.
Following his honours degree from Oxford University, Mr. Devani held senior strategy and business development positions at the Avincis Group, Babcock, UTi Worldwide and British Airways. One of his key strengths is leading all sales and marketing activities in companies with multi-billion-dollar turnovers.

Mr. Devani’s appointment is followed by the recruitment of Jan Eskil Hollen, who joined the organisation in May as Managing Director, Survitec Scandinavia.
Mr. Hollen, who will be responsible for managing all marine business activities in Scandinavia, has worked in various senior roles, gaining a wealth of experience in product management, business development, export sales, purchasing and global procurement. Before joining Survitec he was the CEO of Mørenot’s Aquaculture division.
“With offices in Norway and Sweden and much of Survitec’s heritage and servicing expertise based here, I am very much looking forward to growing the business and sharing the region’s in-depth safety expertise with the global shipping community,” he said.

The new appointments are part of Survitec’s strategy, announced in November 2018, to reorganise its marine business around key market segments – passenger, energy and commercial vessels – to create dedicated sales, service and support dedicated to each sector.
Messrs Devani and Hollen will be available to discuss in more detail Survitec’s new marine strategy at the Nor-Shipping trade fair between 4 and 7 June at Booth C01-38.
Survitec, will be launching a new davit system. Development Manager Finn Lende-Harung will also be hosting technical seminar focussed on SOLAS 360 during the Nor-Shipping conference on the 5th June.
