SURVITEC PROVIDES UNIQUE ON-WATER DEMONSTRATION DAY FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES
Survitec, supported by E.P. Barrus Special Projects Division, invited emergency service delegates to experience first-hand Survitec’s extensive range of safety and survival equipment at its Blue Light Demonstration Day in Bicester this May.
In an industry where every second counts and every detail matters, the event provided delegates from the fire, police and emergency medical service sectors a unique opportunity to interactively discover Survitec’s blue light offering.
Guests ranged from procurement managers, technical specialists and frontline firefighters wishing to get a more in-depth understanding of how Survitec’s offering could assist with their organisation’s safety requirements. Each delegate was invited to learn more about the range through interactive sessions which took place on and off the water.
Rescue boat demonstrations including an example of rapid inflation and on-water handling allowed attendees to put the collection of boats, such as the DSB 470 FR (flood rescue) and semi-rigid inflatable boats, to the test.
Michael Bonney, Babcock International Group Fleet Engineer, commented: “Having been involved in the trials and purchase of five DSB 470 FR boats for the London Fire Brigade from Survitec, it was fantastic to meet the Survitec and E.P. Barrus teams again and to learn about and experience the range of products available. Thank you for the invite, the hospitality and for improving my knowledge especially in the area of water rescue PPE and jump cushions. Excellent venue also E.P. Barrus!”
Workshops also included contact time with the Survitec range of personal lifesaving appliance – including personal flotation devices, drysuits and helmets. Long standing contracts between Survitec and leading emergency service organisations has led to pioneering lifejacket developments that have been integrated into the company’s wider lifejacket offering for the aviation and leisure sectors. An example of these bespoke lifejackets designed with and for organisations such as the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Les Sauveteurs en Mer (SNSM), were also showcased at the event.
Mark Hart, Survitec Sales Director said: “At Survitec we endeavour to meet with our customers regularly. Taking these conversations from the meeting room to an interactive environment creates a unique opportunity to showcase the most up-to-date products available – whilst providing an open forum to discuss the wide-ranging requirements of the different blue light organisation.”
Practical demonstrations showcased examples of Survitec’s bespoke inflatables including the rescue cushion and fast inflation tent also drew a crowd, with Survitec experts on hand to answer any questions.
